LES RENCONTRES ARLES PHOTOGRAPHIE (Meetings ARLES Photography)
The Arles Photography festival, Les Rencontres d'Arles, is a historical international photo festival, founded in 1970. They have many events such as photo folio reviews, photo exhibitions, workshops, slide shows with a huge screen and symposiums. At this time of year, the whole city has that photography feel to it in Arles. Every summer, an audience with as many as 100,000 people visit to see the event.
1970年から始まった歴史ある国際写真フェスティバルで、Photo Folio Reviewをはじめとして、写真展やワークショップ、巨大スライドショー、シンポジウムなどが開催される一大イベント。アルルの街はこの時期、写真一色になり、ひと夏に10万人もの観客が足を運ぶ。
Photo Folio Review
Every July, over 100 'Experts' in various fields like gallery owners, curators, publishers, producers and festival coordinators from all over the world participate in the photo folio review as reviewers. More than 200 photographers from many countries come and try to show their work to the Experts. They aim to sign a contract with gallery owners, having the photo exhibition or publishing own photo books.
毎年7月に行なわれ、世界各地からExpertと呼ばれるギャラリストやキューレター、パブリッシャー、プロフェッサー、フェスティバルコーディネーターなどがレビュアーとして参加する。その数は100名を越え、彼らのレビューを受けるフォトグラファーは200名以上。ギャラリーとの契約や写真展の開催、写真集の出版などを目指して、世界中からフォトグラファーが集まる。
